Actress Jessica Watson completes around-the-world amid huge greetings

Jessica Watson Gossips: The Hollywood Actress Jessica Watson, the 16-year-old girl, who embarked on a mission to sale around the world exactly 210 days ago from now, has come back home and “finally getting those hugs” and enjoying them, too.

After she made to the finishing line, she was hailed by “Australia’s newest hero” by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. Scores of people were waiting by the city’s iconic Opera House, where she docked her little pink yacht.

Watson, who made her around-the-world solo, non-stop and unassisted and became the youngest person on earth to do so, said she felt overwhelmed by the reception and that it far exceeded her expectations.

“I’m completely overwhelmed,” Watson said, in an interview broadcast live on a screen outside the Opera House. “I just don’t know what to think and what to say at the moment. It’s all a bit much but absolutely amazing.”

Julie Watson, mother to Jessica, was left groping for words- “She said she’d sail around the world, and she has,” Julie was saying even as she was trying to restrain her tears. “She’s home.”

Both Jessica’s parents were fiercely criticized when they let their girl realize her dream and allowed her to embark on her journey. Many were questioning if they were in their right minds.

It fell on Jessica, though, to dispel the doubts and she completes her task on fashion.
